Pineapple Pear Smoothie with Grape Juice

Tropical pineapple, mellow pear and a splash of grape juice make a fruity, sweet smoothie that children usually love. The grape juice gives it a slightly deeper colour.

About this smoothie

This smoothie combines three sweet fruit flavours: pineapple brings tropical acidity and vitamin C, pear juiciness and fibre, and red grape juice a rich, round sweetness. Diluting the juice with water keeps the drink from becoming too sugary.

It is a fruity, uncomplicated glass without dairy or greens, good for breakfast, a snack or as a first smoothie for anyone new to them. Serve well chilled.

Bartender tips

  • Use pure grape juice without added sugar.
  • Frozen pineapple makes the drink colder without ice.

Variations

Green version
Add 20 g baby spinach for colour; the fruit hides the taste.
