About this smoothie

Papaya is soft and mildly sweet, and kiwi adds a lively acidity; both fruits are good sources of vitamin C. Chia seeds absorb liquid and thicken the smoothie, and they contain fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. With water as the only liquid, the smoothie stays light while the chia makes it more filling. It is a good option for breakfast, especially if you prefer a drink you could almost eat with a spoon.

Bartender tips

  • A squeeze of lime juice brings out the papaya flavour.
  • Stir the smoothie once or twice while it rests so the chia does not clump.

Variations

With mango
Replace half of the papaya with mango for a sweeter, creamier smoothie.
