About this smoothie

Passion fruit has an intensely aromatic, sweet and sour pulp with crunchy black seeds. Even one fruit gives a smoothie a distinctive tropical scent. Papaya adds body and a mild, melon-like sweetness, while kiwi brings fresh acidity. All three fruits are known as good sources of vitamin C. With water as the only liquid, the drink stays light and lets the fruit speak. It suits a sunny breakfast or a refreshing afternoon break.

Bartender tips

  • A ripe passion fruit has wrinkled skin; smooth ones are often still very sour.
  • If you dislike the seeds, strain the passion fruit pulp through a sieve first.

Variations

Coconut version
Use coconut water instead of water for a sweeter, rounder drink.
