Orange Smoothie with Parsley

Parsley is more than a garnish: blended with oranges it adds a clean, green freshness. The pear softens the citrus acidity and makes the smoothie rounder.

About this smoothie

Flat-leaf parsley has a fresh, slightly peppery flavour and contains vitamin K and vitamin C. Paired with whole oranges, which bring juice, sweetness and fibre, it creates a lively citrus smoothie with a subtle green note. Half a ripe pear adds body and takes the edge off the acidity.

The colour stays orange with a slightly olive tint. The smoothie is refreshing and light and suits breakfast or the afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Flat-leaf parsley blends better and tastes more aromatic than curly parsley.
  • A slice of ginger adds a pleasant warmth.

Variations

With carrot
Add a small carrot for a deeper orange colour and extra sweetness.
