About this smoothie

Using cooled peppermint tea instead of water adds flavour without sugar. Its cool, clean taste works surprisingly well with the honeyed sweetness of ripe nectarines, a little like a fruit iced tea in thicker form. Nectarines provide vitamin C, bananas potassium and natural sweetness.

Brew the tea ahead so it is completely cold. This smoothie is best in summer, when nectarines are ripe and fragrant, and makes a refreshing afternoon drink.

Bartender tips

  • Make the tea the night before and keep it in the fridge.
  • Peaches or apricots can replace the nectarines.

Variations

Iced version
Freeze the tea in ice cube trays and blend the cubes in for a slushy texture.
