About this smoothie

Nectarines and blueberries are both in season in summer and pair naturally, the stone fruit bringing juicy sweetness and the berries a deep colour and mild acidity. The original recipe on this page listed kiwis, so a kiwi stays in for freshness. Blueberries and kiwis both contain vitamin C. Water keeps the smoothie light, and ripe fruit makes any sweetener unnecessary. A fresh choice for a summer breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen blueberries make the smoothie cold and thick and are available year round.
  • Only ripe, fragrant nectarines give enough sweetness.

Variations

With yoghurt
Replace half the water with natural yoghurt for a creamier smoothie.
