About this smoothie

Melon and dark berries balance each other well: the honeydew is sweet, juicy and a little floral, the berries are tart and intensely coloured thanks to their anthocyanins. Blackberries also bring fibre from their tiny seeds. Half a pear rounds out the texture so the smoothie is not too thin.

With only water as liquid it stays light and dairy free. Late summer is the ideal time, when melons and blackberries are both in season.

Bartender tips

  • Very ripe melon needs little or no water.
  • Strain through a sieve if you prefer it without blackberry seeds.

Variations

Chia version
Add 1 tsp chia seeds and let it stand 5 minutes for a thicker smoothie.
