Pear Berry Smoothie

Taste

Fruity and berry-rich, gently tart, with a soft sweetness from the pear.

About this smoothie

Blueberries and blackberries both bring a strong colour and plenty of flavour: blueberries are mild and sweet, blackberries juicier and more tart. A ripe pear smooths everything out and adds natural sweetness, so little or no extra sugar is needed.

Frozen berries work just as well as fresh ones and make the smoothie thicker and colder. That makes this a good recipe all year round, for breakfast or as a fruity snack in the afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen mixed berries are an easy, affordable alternative.
  • Strain through a sieve if you prefer the smoothie without blackberry seeds.

Variations

Yoghurt version
Add 2 tbsp natural yoghurt for a creamier, more filling smoothie.
