Lettuce is the gentlest of all smoothie greens, so the mango and nectarine taste completely in front. A good first glass if green smoothies are new to you.

Taste
Fruity and mild, sweet from mango and nectarine with just a fresh green hint.
About this smoothie
Most green smoothies rely on spinach or kale, but ordinary lettuce such as romaine works too and tastes very mild, with a slightly watery, fresh note. Ripe mango brings creamy body and plenty of sweetness, and a nectarine adds summery stone fruit aroma. Lettuce contributes water and a little fibre rather than strong flavour. The result is a light, sunny glass for breakfast on a warm day.
Bartender tips
Romaine and little gem blend well; iceberg adds very little flavour.
Use frozen mango in winter, it is often riper than fresh fruit.
Variations
With peach
Use a ripe peach instead of the nectarine.
