Tangy and aromatic with tropical passion fruit, sweet apple and a gentle green finish.

About this smoothie

Passion fruit has one of the most intense aromas of any fruit: floral, tropical and quite sour. The pulp with its crunchy black seeds can go straight into the blender; the seeds leave small dark flecks in the drink.

Apple provides sweetness and body and is a good source of fibre, while lamb's lettuce adds a mild, slightly nutty green note. With water as the only liquid the smoothie stays light and refreshing. Good as a morning drink or a fresh snack on a warm day.

Bartender tips

  • Choose passion fruit with wrinkled skin; that is when it is ripest and most aromatic.
  • For a seed free smoothie, press the passion fruit pulp through a sieve first.

Variations

With banana
Add half a banana for a creamier, sweeter smoothie.
