About this smoothie

Red apples such as Gala, Fuji or Pink Lady are sweeter than green ones and balance the acidity of kiwi nicely. Blended with the skin, the apple adds fibre and a slightly thicker body, while the kiwi brings freshness and is well known for its vitamin C.

The smoothie is vegan, light and quick to make, a good glass for breakfast or the afternoon. Drink it fresh, as the apple browns and the colour dulls after a while.

Bartender tips

  • A squeeze of lemon juice keeps the colour fresh for longer.
  • In a weaker blender, peel the apple first for a smoother result.

Variations

With green apple
Use a tart green apple instead for a sharper, more refreshing glass.
