A sweet red apple makes this cucumber smoothie fruitier than you might expect. Coconut water keeps it light and adds a delicate natural sweetness.

About this smoothie

Cucumber and coconut water are both mostly water, so this smoothie is especially light and thirst quenching. Coconut water naturally contains potassium, which is why it is popular after sport. A sweet red apple, such as Gala or Pink Lady, provides fruitiness and some fibre, and balances the neutral cucumber. There is no added sugar and no dairy. It is a good choice for warm days, after exercise or as a light morning drink.

Bartender tips

  • Choose a sweet, aromatic apple; sour varieties make the drink quite sharp.
  • A few ice cubes in the blender make the smoothie extra refreshing.

Variations

With mint
Add 5 mint leaves for a cooler, more herbal version.
