About this smoothie

This is the richer sibling of the avocado nectarine smoothie with coconut water. Coconut milk and avocado both contain fat, which gives the drink a velvety, almost pudding-like body. It is filling enough to replace a light breakfast.

The nectarine provides the fruit flavour and sweetness, so choose a very ripe, fragrant one. The old recipe used a whole avocado per glass; half is enough for creaminess without making it heavy.

Bartender tips

  • If it is too thick, add cold water in small steps.
  • A squeeze of lime keeps the colour fresh and balances the richness.

Variations

Mango version
Replace the nectarine with half a ripe mango.
