About this smoothie

Here the nectarine replaces the apple of the chilled apple berry smoothie, which makes the drink softer, juicier and more fragrant. Frozen mixed berries provide the chill and a tart, colourful counterpoint. Nectarines supply vitamin C and do not need peeling.

Coconut milk adds body and a hint of the tropics. It is a smoothie for hot days: cold, thick and fruity, good as breakfast or an afternoon cooler.

Bartender tips

  • Add the frozen berries last so the blender runs smoothly.
  • Ripe nectarines are sweet enough; no sweetener needed.

Variations

Peach version
Use a ripe peach instead of the nectarine.
