Cold Berry Spinach Smoothie

A big portion of frozen berries makes this smoothie almost like a sorbet you can drink. The spinach disappears completely behind the berry colour and flavour.

About this smoothie

This is a good smoothie for anyone who wants to add greens without tasting them: the deep purple berries hide both the flavour and the colour of the spinach. Frozen berries provide vitamin C and fibre and keep the drink icy cold. Baby spinach adds folate and vitamin K.

Without banana or dairy, the smoothie is tart and light. If you prefer it sweeter, a teaspoon of honey or half a banana is enough. Refreshing on a hot day or after exercise.

Bartender tips

  • Blend the spinach with the water first for the smoothest texture.
  • Half a frozen banana makes it creamier and sweeter.

Variations

With yogurt
Add 2 tbsp natural yogurt for a creamier, tangy version.
