About this smoothie

Goji berries come from a shrub native to China and are mostly sold dried in Europe. They taste somewhere between cranberry and raisin, sweet and a little tart. Blueberries are known for their anthocyanins, the pigments behind their colour, and banana makes the smoothie thick and naturally sweet.

With milk as the base this is a creamy, filling smoothie, well suited to breakfast. Frozen blueberries work just as well as fresh ones and make it colder.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen blueberries make the smoothie thicker and colder.
  • Soaking the goji berries softens them so they blend completely.

Variations

Vegan version
Use an oat or soy drink instead of cow's milk.
