Blackberry Yogurt Smoothie with Passion Fruit
Creamy and tangy, with deep blackberry flavor and a fragrant tropical passion fruit note.
Blackberries and passion fruit are both fairly tart, so the natural yogurt here does two jobs: it adds creaminess and it softens the acidity. The passion fruit brings a strong tropical fragrance, the blackberries a deep, slightly earthy berry flavor and plenty of fiber.
The original recipe mixed the yogurt with water rather than milk, which keeps the drink lighter and lets the fruit taste clearer. Depending on how ripe your berries are, a teaspoon of honey may be welcome. The smoothie suits breakfast or a light dessert, and it is lovely with frozen blackberries in summer.
