About this smoothie

This smoothie is built to keep you going through the morning. Rolled oats add body and fibre, almonds a toasty nuttiness plus protein, vitamin E and healthy fats, and banana natural sweetness. Milk makes it creamy and contributes protein and calcium. The baby spinach is barely noticeable in flavour but tints the drink a soft green.

It is thicker than most fruit smoothies, so a strong blender helps with the almonds. Best at breakfast or before a long walk or workout.

Bartender tips

  • Soaking the almonds makes them easier to blend smoothly.
  • 2 tsp almond butter can replace whole almonds for a smoother texture.

Variations

Vegan version
Use almond or oat milk instead of cow's milk.
