Avocado Ginger Smoothie with Sultanas

Sultanas sweeten this avocado smoothie naturally, and ginger adds a warm, spicy kick. Milk makes it creamy and filling, almost like a milkshake.

About this smoothie

Avocado is mild on its own, so it takes on other flavours easily. Here sultanas, which are dried white grapes, bring concentrated sweetness and fibre, while fresh ginger adds warmth. Avocado contributes monounsaturated fat and a velvety texture, and milk adds protein and calcium.

This smoothie is filling enough for breakfast or as a small meal. Soaking the sultanas in a little warm water for 10 minutes helps them blend completely, so the smoothie stays silky.

Bartender tips

  • Soaked sultanas blend much more smoothly than dry ones.
  • A frozen banana added to the blender makes it thicker and sweeter.

Variations

Vegan
Use oat or almond drink instead of milk.
