Avocado Apple Smoothie

Taste

Mild, creamy and fresh, with a gentle apple sweetness and a soft, nutty background.

About this smoothie

This smoothie shows how much texture a single avocado half can give. Blended with water, it becomes silky and thick, while the red apple adds juice and a gentle sweetness. A few drops of lemon juice, optional in the recipe, sharpen the flavor and slow the browning of the avocado.

Avocado contains mostly unsaturated fat, which makes the drink more filling than a pure fruit smoothie. The taste is mild and slightly nutty, closer to a smooth apple purée than to guacamole. It works well as a light breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

Bartender tips

  • Use a sweet, juicy apple such as Gala or Pink Lady for a rounder flavor.
  • A handful of ice cubes makes it extra refreshing on warm days.

Variations

With basil
Blend in two basil leaves for a fresh, herbal twist.
