About this smoothie

Avocado has a buttery texture and almost no sweetness, so it needs a sweet partner in a smoothie. A ripe pear is ideal: soft, juicy and floral. Avocado provides mostly unsaturated fats, which makes the drink more filling than a pure fruit smoothie.

This vegan smoothie is a good breakfast or a snack that keeps you going for a while. A squeeze of lemon or lime adds freshness and helps preserve the green colour.

Bartender tips

  • Ripe avocado is essential; an unripe one tastes grassy and does not blend smoothly.
  • A few drops of lime juice brighten the flavour and keep the colour fresh.

Variations

Green
Add 15 g baby spinach for a deeper green colour.
