A spoonful of sultanas is all the sweetener this smoothie needs. With apple, pear and almond milk it tastes a little like apple strudel, especially with a pinch of cinnamon.

Apple Pear Smoothie with Sultanas
Taste
Sweet and creamy with apple and pear, a raisin-like caramel note and a mild nutty finish.
About this smoothie
Apples and pears are available all year and are among the most affordable smoothie fruits. Blended whole, they keep their fibre, which gives the drink body and a naturally sweet base. Sultanas are dried white grapes; they bring concentrated sweetness and a light caramel note, so no sugar is needed. Almond milk adds creaminess and a mild nutty flavour. Together they create a comforting, dessert-like smoothie that still consists only of fruit and a plant drink. Good for breakfast or on a cool afternoon.
Bartender tips
Soaking softens the sultanas so they blend without leaving bits.
A pinch of cinnamon or a little vanilla completes the strudel flavour.
Variations
With walnuts
Add a few walnut halves for a nuttier, more filling version.
