Strawberry Smoothie with Coconut Milk

Ripe strawberries and coconut milk taste a little like a strawberry milkshake, only lighter and dairy free. Half a banana adds body and sweetness.

About this smoothie

A classic that works almost every time: strawberries, banana and a creamy liquid. Coconut milk replaces cow milk here and gives a mild, tropical undertone. Strawberries are known for their vitamin C, and in season they need no sweetener at all.

Outside the strawberry season, frozen berries are often the better choice, as they are picked ripe. This smoothie suits breakfast, a snack or a light dessert on a summer evening.

Bartender tips

  • Wash strawberries before removing the tops, or they soak up water.
  • Frozen strawberries give a thicker, ice cold smoothie.

Variations

With vanilla
Add a pinch of vanilla or a drop of vanilla extract for a dessert-like version.
