About this smoothie

Baby spinach is the classic green smoothie leaf because it has hardly any taste of its own. It contributes colour, volume and nutrients such as vitamin K and folate. A ripe banana provides sweetness and creaminess, half a pear adds juiciness, and coconut water replaces plain water with a light, nutty sweetness and some natural potassium.

This is one of the easiest green smoothies to like, a good choice for beginners and for a quick breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • Blend the spinach with the coconut water first for the smoothest texture.
  • A frozen banana makes the smoothie thicker and colder.

Variations

With mango
Replace the pear with half a mango for a more tropical flavour.
