Simple Pineapple and Red Apple Smoothie

Two fruits and water, nothing else. Ripe pineapple gives tropical sweetness and a lively tang, and a red apple makes it rounder and a little thicker.

  4. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Taste

Juicy and refreshing, with sweet, tangy pineapple and a mellow red apple body.

About this smoothie

Simple two fruit smoothies depend entirely on ripe produce. Here a generous portion of pineapple brings juice, sweetness and acidity, and a sweet red apple adds body and a mellow, familiar flavour that softens the pineapple's sharpness.

Pineapple provides vitamin C and manganese, and the apple adds fibre when the skin stays on. With only water as the base, this is a light, refreshing drink for warm days or as a fruity start to the morning.

Bartender tips

  • Choose a ripe pineapple: it smells sweet at the base and a leaf pulls out easily.
  • Use frozen pineapple chunks for a colder, slushier result.

Variations

Ginger kick
Add a thumbnail sized piece of fresh ginger for a warming note.
