Pineapple Pear Smoothie with Mint Tea

Peppermint tea gives this tropical smoothie a cool, clear finish. Pineapple and passion fruit bring tang and perfume, and a juicy pear softens everything with its mild sweetness.

Pineapple Pear Smoothie with Mint Tea

Taste

Cool and fruity, tangy pineapple and passion fruit with soft pear and a clean mint finish.

About this smoothie

Peppermint tea is a caffeine free herbal infusion, and chilled it works like a flavoured water in smoothies. Its cooling taste goes especially well with tropical fruit. Pineapple and passion fruit both have bright acidity and a strong aroma, while pear adds body and sweetness, so no sugar is needed.

The smoothie is light and refreshing, ideal on hot days, after exercise or as a fruity drink in the evening.

Bartender tips

  • Brew the tea the evening before and chill it overnight; then the smoothie takes two minutes.
  • Add a few fresh mint leaves to the blender for an even stronger mint flavour.

Variations

Without passion fruit
Leave it out and add 50 g more pineapple for a simpler, sweeter smoothie.
