Orange Berry Smoothie

Three kinds of berries and fresh orange juice make a smoothie with lots of fruit and a clean citrus finish. It is thinner than banana based smoothies and very refreshing.

About this smoothie

This smoothie combines the sweetness of orange with three berries that each bring something different: strawberries aroma, raspberries a sharp tang, blackberries depth and colour. Oranges and berries are both good sources of vitamin C, and the berries add fibre.

Freshly squeezed juice makes a clear difference here, as it tastes brighter than most bottled juice. Without banana or dairy the drink stays light, making it a good choice for breakfast or a warm afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • A frozen berry mix works fine out of season.
  • Add half a banana if you want it thicker and sweeter.

Variations

Creamy version
Blend in 2 tbsp natural yogurt.
