Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie with Water

Blended with water instead of milk, this berry smoothie tastes remarkably pure: sweet strawberries, fragrant raspberries and nothing to dull them. Half a banana gives it just enough body.

About this smoothie

Water based smoothies let the fruit speak for itself. Strawberries bring juicy sweetness, raspberries a more intense, slightly sour aroma, and a little banana thickens the texture without masking the berries.

Both berries are good sources of vitamin C and fibre. Without dairy or added sugar, it is a light, refreshing glass that suits hot summer days, a quick breakfast or a snack after sport.

Bartender tips

  • In summer, use ripe local strawberries; out of season, frozen berries have more flavour than imported fresh ones.
  • A few ice cubes in the blender make it extra refreshing.

Variations

Creamy berry
Replace the water with milk or oat drink for a milkshake style smoothie.
