About this smoothie

Oats, banana and milk are the familiar base of a muesli smoothie, and cinnamon is their natural partner: it underlines the sweetness of the banana and gives the drink a cosy, bakery-like aroma.

Rolled oats supply fibre and make the smoothie filling, almond milk a light nutty note. There is no added sugar; the banana is sweet enough. Blend it in the morning and take it along in a jar, or drink it straight away while the texture is at its smoothest.

Bartender tips

  • Ceylon cinnamon tastes softer and more delicate than cassia.
  • A few drops of vanilla extract suit the cinnamon well.

Variations

Apple pie style
Add half a grated apple and a little more cinnamon.
