About this smoothie

Nuts bring healthy fats, protein and fibre to a smoothie, which makes it more filling. Almonds and cashews blend smoothest, while walnuts add a slightly bitter, earthy note that suits dark berries.

Blueberries and blackberries provide sweetness, tartness and colour. Almond drink and yogurt round everything off and make the texture creamy. Because of the nuts, this smoothie is richer than a pure fruit version and works best as breakfast or a substantial snack.

Bartender tips

  • Soak the nuts for a few hours before blending if your blender is not very powerful.
  • One teaspoon of nut butter can replace the whole nuts.

Variations

Vegan version
Use a soy or almond yogurt instead of natural yogurt.
