Avocado Smoothie with Raspberries

Raspberries and avocado sound like an odd pair, but the result is a creamy smoothie with a bright berry tang. The pear adds juice, coconut water a light sweetness.

About this smoothie

Avocado brings body and creaminess, raspberries the colour and acidity. Together they give a smoothie with a dusky pink shade and a velvety texture. Half a pear adds sweetness and juice, and coconut water keeps the drink light.

Avocado is known for its monounsaturated fats, raspberries for fibre and vitamin C. The smoothie is fairly filling and fits breakfast or a snack between meals.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen raspberries work well and make the smoothie colder.
  • A teaspoon of honey helps if the raspberries are very tart.

Variations

With strawberries
Replace half the raspberries with strawberries for a sweeter version.
