Taste
Creamy and only mildly sweet, with tart raspberry, a peppery hint of rocket and a velvety body.
About this smoothie
Avocado is the base here: it makes the smoothie thick and smooth and is known for its monounsaturated fat. Baby spinach and rocket add greens, the spinach mild and the rocket slightly peppery. Raspberries are the fruity counterpoint with their tart aroma, and they are a good source of fibre thanks to their tiny seeds.
The smoothie is not very sweet and fairly filling. It suits a late breakfast or a snack when you want something green without a sugar rush.
Bartender tips
Frozen raspberries work very well and make the smoothie colder.
Add half a banana or a teaspoon of honey if it is too tart for you.
Variations
Without rocket
Use only spinach for a milder, rounder green smoothie.
