About this smoothie

Strawberry and passion fruit are a vivid pairing: the strawberries bring sweet, summery juice, the passion fruit an intense tropical perfume and tartness. Baby spinach adds greens without much flavour, and a few mint leaves keep the glass fresh.

Strawberries are well known for their vitamin C, and passion fruit seeds provide some fibre. With only water as the base, it is a light, refreshing smoothie for summer mornings or after exercise.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen strawberries make it thicker and colder; add a little extra water if needed.
  • Blend briefly after adding the passion fruit if you want the seeds to stay crunchy rather than crushed.

Variations

Creamy version
Add half a banana or 2 tbsp natural yoghurt for a creamier texture.
