Raspberry Banana Smoothie

Raspberries have one of the most intense aromas of any berry, and banana gives them a soft, sweet base. The colour alone is worth it.

About this smoothie

Raspberries are delicate, fragrant and quite tart, so they benefit from a sweet, creamy partner like banana. Together they make a bright pink smoothie with plenty of flavour. Raspberries are a good source of fibre and vitamin C, bananas supply potassium.

Mixed with water, the drink stays light; with milk or yogurt it turns into something closer to a milkshake. It suits breakfast, an afternoon snack or a glass after sport.

Bartender tips

  • Rinse raspberries only briefly, they soak up water and lose aroma.
  • Frozen raspberries are a good, affordable alternative out of season.

Variations

Replace the water with milk or almond milk.
