About this smoothie

Kiwis are well known for their high vitamin C content, and their sweet and sour flavour pairs naturally with mild baby spinach. Coconut water adds a gentle sweetness and keeps the drink light, so this is more of a refresher than a meal.

The tiny black kiwi seeds stay whole and give a little crunch. Use fully ripe kiwis that give under light pressure; unripe ones make the smoothie sharp. A good match for a morning start or after a workout on a warm day.

Bartender tips

  • Do not blend kiwi for too long, as crushed seeds can make the drink slightly bitter.
  • Add half a banana if you want it creamier and sweeter.

Variations

Creamy kiwi
Add half a frozen banana for more body.
