About this smoothie

Apple is one of the most versatile smoothie fruits: juicy, mildly sweet and available all year. Here it meets a ripe peach, which adds a floral aroma and a softer texture, and fresh ginger, which brings a gentle warmth. A few mint leaves keep the flavour fresh.

Apples and peaches both provide fibre, especially with the skin left on. Using only fruit and water, it is a light smoothie for a summer breakfast or a refreshing afternoon glass.

Bartender tips

  • Only a fully ripe peach gives the right fragrance; out of season, use frozen peach slices.
  • A tart apple variety balances the peach sweetness best.

Variations

Creamy version
Replace half of the water with natural yogurt for a softer, creamier smoothie.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to peel the peach?

No, a blender handles the skin well. Peel it only if you dislike the slightly furry texture.

Is it vegan?

Yes, it contains only fruit, ginger, mint and water.

Can I use a nectarine?

Yes, a nectarine works just as well and has a smooth skin.
