About this smoothie

Banana and raspberry is one of the classic smoothie pairings for good reason: the banana adds creaminess and sweetness, the raspberries bring acidity and a bright colour. Raspberries also contain a fair amount of fibre and vitamin C.

Coconut water is thinner than milk, so this smoothie is refreshing rather than filling. It suits a warm afternoon or the time after sport. If the tiny seeds bother you, press the raspberries through a sieve first.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen raspberries give a thicker, sorbet-like texture.
  • A very ripe banana means you will not need any sweetener.

Variations

Creamy version
Swap half of the coconut water for plant-based yoghurt.
