Yoghurt Smoothie with Blackberries and Rice Milk

Blackberries and natural yoghurt make a tangy, creamy pair. Rice milk keeps the smoothie light, and half a banana adds just enough sweetness.

Taste

Tangy and fruity, with dark berry flavour, a creamy yoghurt body and a mild sweetness from rice milk.

About this smoothie

Yoghurt smoothies sit between a drink and a spoonable breakfast: the yoghurt brings body, protein and a fresh sourness that suits dark berries very well. Rice milk is thin and naturally sweet, so it lightens the texture without dulling the fruit.

Blackberries are a good source of fibre and vitamin C, and their colour comes from anthocyanins. With only half a banana, the glass stays fruity and not too sweet, a good match for summer mornings.

Bartender tips

  • Greek yoghurt gives an even thicker, more spoonable smoothie.
  • Strain through a fine sieve if you want to avoid blackberry seeds.

Variations

Vegan version
Use soy yoghurt in place of natural yoghurt.
