Oranges and Ginger Smoothie

Fresh orange juice and a slice of ginger make a classic wake up call. The spinach blends in almost invisibly, adding a little green without changing the zesty character.

About this smoothie

Orange and ginger are a popular combination, especially in the colder months. Freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice bring plenty of juiciness and acidity, and both are well known for their vitamin C. Fresh ginger adds a warming, spicy heat, and a small amount of baby spinach contributes colour and a mild green note.

The smoothie is thin and juice like, vegan and quick to make. It fits well at breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • Blend the ginger with a little juice first so no fibrous pieces remain.
  • Add a few ice cubes if the oranges were not chilled.

Variations
