La Fortuna

La Fortuna, Spanish for "fortune" or "luck", is a modern recipe published by a tequila producer to showcase its blanco. It is not an old classic and has no documented bar of origin; its roots lie in the Margarita family of spirit, lime and sweetener, with pomegranate juice added for color and tartness.
Pomegranate became a popular cocktail ingredient in the 2000s as bottled unsweetened juice became easy to find. It also reconnects with an older bar tradition: real grenadine was originally a pomegranate syrup, long before most commercial versions became simple red sugar syrups.
A 100 percent agave blanco keeps the drink fresh and lets the fruit shine.
Only a real pomegranate grenadine, and then reduce the agave syrup, because grenadine is much sweeter than juice.
It is a close relative: same base of tequila, lime and sweetener, but with pomegranate juice instead of orange liqueur.
