Crisp apple from two sides, juice and flavoured vodka, lifted by the fizz of lemonade. It is light, not too strong and ready in the time it takes to slice an apple.

Sweet, juicy apple with a light lemony sparkle and very little alcohol heat. Refreshing and easy.
History and origin
The Fizzy Apple is a simple modern highball from the era of flavoured vodkas, which became widespread from the 1990s onward. It has no documented creator and no particular bar behind it.
It follows the classic highball formula of a spirit topped up with a larger amount of a non-alcoholic mixer, here a blend of apple juice and lemonade. Similar combinations are popular across Europe, from the German Apfelschorle tradition of mixing apple juice with sparkling water to vodka and apple long drinks at parties.
Bartender tips
Cut the apple slice just before serving, or brush it with lemon juice so it does not brown.
Swap lemonade for soda water if you prefer a drier drink.
Plain vodka works too; add a squeeze of lemon for freshness.
Variations
Easy twist: cinnamon
Add a cinnamon stick and use ginger ale instead of lemonade for an autumn version.
Apple Spritz
Replace the lemonade with chilled prosecco.
