Pineapple instead of orange gives this sunrise a softer, more tropical flavour and a pale golden colour for the grenadine to glow through. Three ingredients, two minutes, no shaker.

Florida Sunrise
Taste
Sweet, juicy pineapple with a light rum warmth and a berry-sweet finish from the grenadine. Mild and easy.
History and origin
The Florida Sunrise is one of many variations on the Tequila Sunrise, the orange juice and grenadine highball that became famous in the 1970s. Its creator is not documented.
It swaps both main ingredients: white rum instead of tequila and pineapple juice instead of orange juice, bringing it closer to the rum and pineapple drinks of the tiki and beach bar tradition. The grenadine technique stays the same, a heavy syrup poured last so it sinks and forms a red gradient.
Bartender tips
Use chilled pineapple juice so the ice lasts longer.
A squeeze of lime balances the sweetness nicely.
Use real pomegranate grenadine for a fresher fruit note.
