Creamy coffee meets a lively fizz of cola, and the result tastes a little like a coffee float. It is sweet, smooth and much lighter on the tongue than a straight White Russian.

Creamy and sweet with coffee, caramel and a light fizz. Medium strength.
History and origin
The Colorado Bulldog is a close relative of the White Russian, the vodka, coffee liqueur and cream drink that grew popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Topping it with cola adds bubbles and caramel notes and turns a rich after-dinner drink into something closer to a highball.
Where the name comes from and who first made it is not known. Despite the name, there is no evidence linking the drink to Colorado or to any particular bar there. It belongs to the family of creamy coffee drinks along with the Black Russian, the White Russian and the Mudslide, and it has remained a simple, crowd-pleasing bar call.
Bartender tips
Add the cola last and stir gently to keep the bubbles.
Milk gives a lighter drink, cream a richer one; half-and-half is a good middle ground.
Chill the cola well so the cream does not separate.
