Cocktails served in a Sling glass
The sling glass is a tall, slender glass on a short foot, often with a slight flare at the top. It is closely linked to the Singapore Sling and other elegant long drinks. This page lists all recipes served in a sling glass, with notes on how to build a tall, layered drink that looks as good as it tastes, and when a Collins glass will serve just as well.

Shape and purpose
A sling glass is tall and narrow, usually on a small foot or short stem, with a capacity of about 300 to 450 ml. The flared top gives room for fruit garnish, and the slim body shows off colour and ice.
Which drinks belong here
The Singapore Sling and other slings (a spirit with citrus, sugar and often a liqueur, lengthened with soda or juice), plus elegant fruity long drinks.
Tips
- Build over plenty of fresh ice so the drink stays cold to the bottom.
- Shake the main ingredients, strain into the glass and top with soda last.
- Garnish at the rim, for example with a pineapple slice and a cherry.
- If you do not own sling glasses, a Collins or highball glass works for all of these recipes.
