Drop the shot glass, watch the orange liqueur swirl into the fizzy energy drink and drink it straight away. The combination tastes remarkably like fruit candy, which is exactly where the name comes from.

Skittle Bomb
Taste
Sweet, fizzy and fruity, like orange and tutti-frutti candy. The measure of liqueur makes it stronger than it tastes.
History and origin
The Skittle Bomb belongs to the family of bomb shots, drinks in which a shot glass of spirit or liqueur is dropped into a larger glass of mixer and drunk quickly. The best known of them is the Jägerbomb, and the Skittle Bomb follows the same pattern with orange liqueur instead of herbal liqueur.
Its name refers to the fruit candy taste that orange liqueur and a typical energy drink create together. Like most bomb shots it spread through bars and student nights in the 2000s, and it goes by several local nicknames. It has no documented inventor.
Because energy drinks can mask how much alcohol you have had, it is a drink for one round, not for a whole evening.
Bartender tips
Use a heavy, thick-walled glass so the dropped shot glass does not crack it.
Pouring the liqueur in directly is safer than dropping the glass and tastes the same.
Keep it to a single serve and drink water alongside.
